Dilesh Makwana

Dilesh is the Managing Director and an Independent Prescribing Optometrist at Eyesite Eyecare Centres. He qualified from Aston University in 2012. Dilesh has won a national award for Newly Qualified Optometrist of the year in 2017.  He has also completed the Alcon Scholarship Programme, which recognises professional development for qualified optometrists. Dedicated to the promotion of optometry in the region, he is the Secretary of the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Optical Committee.

Dileshʼs clinical interests include, myopia control, orthokeratology, anterior eye disease and optometry in the community.  He has been invited to speak on BBC radio on eye health issues and has had articles published in Optometry Today.

Suresh Munyal

Suresh is the founder of Eyesite Eyecare Centres which first opened in 1987. A qualified as an Optometrist in 1982 and subsequently completed two postgraduate degrees focusing on eye diseases, contact lenses, childrenʼs eye health and ocular therapeutics. Notably, in 2017 Suresh passed the British College of Optometrists independent prescribersʼ exams. Suresh has worked in the hospital eye service specialising in contact lenses and working in eye casualty. In his previous role as the Local Eye Health Network Chairman of this area he was instrumental in implementing the NHS eye care service in Coventry and Rugby. He is now a trustee for the Coventry Resource Centre for the blind. 

Avneet Gill

Avneet is a newly qualified Optometrist that has worked for Eyesite Eyecare Centres for over 6 years. Having graduated from Aston University in 2019, Avneet has a keen interest in myopia control; being short sighted herself. In 2018, she was one of two students selected to complete the University’s first Optometry Erasmus+ Scholarship. This enabled her to study abroad in Heraklion, Crete and even meet the pioneer of LASIK eye surgery, Professor Ioannis Pallikaris. Avneet is also a Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers bursary winner and took part in the Lord Mayor’s show in 2018 to support the oldest optical body worldwide. 

Taybah Ilahi

Taybah is a newly qualified optometrist having obtained a Master of Optometry degree from the University of Hertfordshire in 2022. She has undertaken thorough training at a separate independent practice in Kent and also worked at a multiple after qualifying. Taybah is keen to pursue further training in the form of a higher certificate from the College of Optometrists. She also enjoys participating in continued professional development courses. Helping patients with every part of their journey in store from finding the most optimal prescription to choosing the right spectacle frame is where her passion lies. 

Gurjeet Seera

Gurjeet qualified from Aston University in 2014. She is passionate about medical retina and anterior eye and is currently undertaking further education to attain a Medical Retina Certificate. Since joining us as optometrist in 2016, she has been fully invested in patient care and she values the ethos of Eyesite – that the patient is always the priority. Gurjeet’s main objective is to provide you with a good personal ocular healthcare service.

Khayam Hussain

I am a newly qualified optometrist who joined Eyesite in 2021 after Graduating from Anglia Ruskin university. I have great clinical interest in myopia control, orthokeratology and medical retina and in due course will be completing a professional certificate in medical retina. I am an approachable person who will help every patients journey within Eyesite to be memorable. In my free time I enjoy playing cricket at a high standard.
